Overnight snow will gradually come to an end this morning in southeast Wisconsin, dropping up to 2 or 3 inches in total from Waukesha to Milwaukee to Port Washington.
Road conditions in the Milwaukee area as of 6:30 a.m. were mixed. Some highways had slippery stretches, according to the Wisconsin Department of Transportation, while Interstate 94 running through Milwaukee’s south side was snow-covered. The stretch of I-94 heading west from the city had good winter driving.
The slushy snow will continue to make roads slippery through the morning commute, the National Weather Service said. The snow will come to an end between 7 and 9 a.m. for much of the Milwaukee area, lingering until 10 a.m. for Fond du Lac and Sheboygan.
Once it stops snowing, it will become windy, the weather service said. Gusts up to 35 mph are possible for the rest of the day.
