Milwaukee fatal stabbing; Racine man charged
MILWAUKEE – Monquel Harper, 20, of Racine is charged with second-degree reckless murder in reference to a deadly stabbing that occurred close to thirteenth and Granada on Milwaukee’s south aspect.
In keeping with the prison grievance, Milwaukee police responded to a report of a stabbing incident close to thirteenth and Granada round 3 a.m. on Wednesday, July 20. Officers discovered a person with a single stab wound. He was taken to Froedtert Hospital — the place he later died.
Investigators spoke with witnesses who indicated Harper and several other others had been consuming collectively that night. The grievance says the sufferer was drunk, and so they took him again to his home. After dropping him off, prosecutors say he stated he needed to struggle Harper. Harper then bought out of the car he was in and approached the sufferer. In keeping with a witness who stated the knife that was used belonged to her, the sufferer stored pushing Harper, and Harper stabbed the sufferer within the chest. The witness recorded the incident on her cellphone, the grievance says.

The grievance says Harper was arrested by members of the Racine Police Division on Friday, July 22. When interviewed by investigators, Harper stated that “when (the sufferer) pushed (him), the knife swung upward. When confronted with the truth that the video doesn’t present it occur this fashion, (Harper) admitted that he thrusted in the direction of (the sufferer) with the knife,” the grievance says. Harper advised police “he solely needed to chop (the sufferer) sufficient to possibly trigger (the sufferer) to want stitches and denied eager to kill (the sufferer),” the grievance says.

Harper made his preliminary look in Milwaukee County court docket on Tuesday, July 26. Money bond was set at $30,000.
