Milwaukee Bucks HC Adrian Griffin Sheds Light On Khris Middleton’s Injury Absence Vs. Kings

Milwaukee Bucks star Khris Middleton was still able to join in on the celebrations after Damian Lillard hit an unforgettable 32-foot game-winner in overtime against the Sacramento Kings. Middleton, however, was in street clothes as he jumped in with his teammates to celebrate Dame’s epic shot.

Middleton sat out Sunday’s contest against Sacramento. This was the second night of a back-to-back set for the Bucks, which explains why the three-time All-Star was forced to watch his team from the sidelines.

The official diagnosis for Middleton’s absence was that he was rested as part of the team’s injury management of his surgically repaired knee. Simply put, it was nothing more than a night off for the 32-year-old forward.

Bucks coach Adrian Griffin confirmed the same as he shed light on Middleton’s injury before Sunday’s contest:

“Just being smart,” Griffin said, via Jim Owczarski of the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel. “It’s a lot of games for him – three in four days. So we’ll just continue to be smart and monitor him as we move forward.”

The Bucks get two nights off before their next game, which is a road matchup against the Cleveland Cavaliers. Barring any unforeseen setbacks, Middleton should be back in the starting lineup for that game.
