Marquette Day: Golden Eagles’ historic season honored in Milwaukee
MILWAUKEE – Milwaukee metropolis and county leaders gathered Tuesday, April 11 to honor the Marquette Golden Eagles males’s basketball staff for its historic season.
As a part of the celebration, Milwaukee Mayor Cavalier Johnson and County Govt David Crowley issued proclamations making Tuesday “Marquette Day” within the metropolis and county.
“What these younger males did on the basketball courtroom and off the courtroom,” Milwaukee Mayor Cavalier Johnson stated, “it conjures up so many individuals throughout our neighborhood.”

“We knew we had a bunch of men early on who cared about one another. For our program, there are three issues we worth above all others – that is relationships, progress and victory,” head coach Shaka Sensible stated.
The Golden Eagles soared throughout the 2022-23 marketing campaign, profitable its first ever outright Large East Convention title throughout the common season – and following that by profitable the convention event. It helped them earn a No. 2 seed within the NCAA Event in March.
