Kidnapping, assault case: Milwaukee man faces multiple charges

MILWAUKEE – A 36-year-old Milwaukee man faces a number of costs following the alleged sexual assault of a lady – and an hours-long standoff with tactical police. The accused is Jesus Rangel – and he faces the next legal counts: 

• Kidnapping
• First-degree sexual assault, use of a harmful weapon (two counts)
• Failure to adjust to officer’s try and take individual into custody

In response to the legal grievance, Milwaukee officers obtained a grievance from a lady who said the defendant sexually assaulted her within the early hours of Sunday, Could 15. The girl said Rangel requested to talk together with her – they usually met. The grievance says after the assembly, Rangel requested to be pushed to a gasoline station — and that they drove to 2 separate gasoline stations. At this level, the grievance says “the defendant started performing unusual and paranoid.”

Whereas driving, the grievance says “the defendant pulled out a small black handgun” and informed the girl to show off her cellphone. Finally, they pulled over, and the grievance says the defendant sexually assaulted the girl. They drove round some extra — and once more, the grievance says the defendant assaulted the girl. It was after these incidents that the girl reported the crimes to police.

5 days later, Milwaukee police positioned the defendant at an deal with on town’s south facet. When officers recognized themselves, the grievance says Rangel “threatened to kill officers and himself. The defendant then started to interrupt family furnishings objects and throw them down the steps.”

The Tactical Enforcement Unit (TEU) was dispatched to the scene to help. TEU officers tried to ascertain a rapport with Rangel. The grievance says he then “poured a considerable amount of flammable liquid on the staircase and threatened to burn the home down.”

Roughly three hours after the TEU’s arrive on the scene, the grievance says “chemical munitions had been deployed” which led to officers putting the defendant in custody. Immediately subsequent to the defendant, officers noticed a handgun that matched the outline of the weapon used within the earlier assaults.

Rangel made his preliminary look in Milwaukee County court docket by video on Friday, Could 27. Money bond was set at $100,000. Rangel is due again in court docket for a preliminary listening to on June 6.
