9th and Hayes shooting: Milwaukee man gets 3 years in prison

MILWAUKEE – A Milwaukee man has been sentenced to a few years in jail for a 2021 taking pictures.

Brendan Griffin, 36, pleaded responsible to an amended cost of second-degree recklessly endangering security in April; initially, he was charged with first-degree reckless damage.

In line with a legal grievance, officers discovered a 24-year-old girl laying within the yard of a house close to ninth and Hayes on June 13, 2021. The lady’s little one instructed officers she was shot by Griffin.

The sufferer instructed investigators she and Griffin had gotten into an argument. Prosecutors say “Griffin didn’t like (the sufferer) questioning him” and punched her within the head as she was strolling down some stairs.

Outdoors, the grievance states, Griffin put the kid right into a pool, pulled out a revolver and fired towards the sufferer – hanging her twice.

Griffin instructed police the taking pictures was “simply an accident,” per the grievance. He stated it was the sufferer who truly struck him earlier than strolling down the steps. The grievance notes that the sufferer had swelling to her head. 

Finally, Griffin instructed investigators that he “should’ve blacked out,” and that he shot on the floor, including “with the recoil it will need to have caught (the sufferer) within the arm on the second shot.” He stated he then ran to the sufferer stated “he was sorry.”

Griffin was additionally sentenced to a few years of prolonged supervision.
