2018 gas station shooting: Milwaukee man accused, charged

Costs have been filed in reference to a 2018 taking pictures incident at a fuel station at twenty seventh and Lisbon. One man was wounded in that incident. Now, 24-year-old Deandre Brown of Milwaukee faces the next felony counts:

  • First-degree reckless damage
  • First-degree recklessly endangering security (two counts)

In keeping with the felony grievance, Milwaukee police responded to the Walgreens at twenty seventh and North on June 4, 2018. When officers arrived on the scene, they discovered a sufferer who had suffered two gunshot wounds. The sufferer informed officers he had been shot at a fuel station at twenty seventh and Lisbon. He had been at that location along with his girlfriend and their 3-year-old son. The sufferer informed police that “he was strolling again to his automotive from the fuel station retailer when he heard a number of gunshots and realized he was hit,” the grievance says. The sufferer informed police he drove away from the scene, tried to get to a hospital, however stopped on the Walgreens as a result of he had a flat tire.

Authorities spoke with the sufferer’s girlfriend who said she was seated at the back of the sufferer’s automotive. She indicated “an individual in a blue car started taking pictures of their route,” the grievance says. However the girlfriend didn’t see the shooter.

Investigators went to the fuel station and positioned 14 spent .40 caliber casings and 7 bullet fragments. Additionally they collected surveillance video of the taking pictures. The grievance says it reveals the sufferer “enter the fuel station retailer, after which reveals a person subsequently recognized as Deandre Brown, enter the shop by means of a special door.” When Brown sees the sufferer, he “makes a hurried movement and goes again exterior to retrieve a firearm from his blue sedan,” the grievance says. The video then reveals the defendant re-enter the shop along with his firearm. However by then, the sufferer had left the shop and was strolling in the direction of his automotive. The grievance says “the defendant then runs again out the door in the direction of his automotive, will get in, drives round to the opposite facet of the fuel station, after which fires a number of photographs within the route” of the sufferer.

Detectives in 2022 met with the sufferer’s girlfriend and confirmed her a reserving photograph of Brown. She “said that the defendant who she noticed within the reserving photograph was the person who had shot” at her, the sufferer and their little one in 2018.

Brown is anticipated to make his preliminary look in Milwaukee County courtroom on Thursday morning, Might 19.
