Surprise House hearing on Michigan auto insurance reform leads to walkout

Lansing — A primary-time listening to Thursday on laws responding to complaints concerning charge cuts for medical providers for survivors of catastrophic crashes ended with seven Republicans leaving the assembly, the invoice failing to advance and the removing of the invoice from committee by Home management.

Home members who left the Home Insurance coverage Committee assembly stated the invoice was not listed on the agenda forward of time and that Chairwoman Daire Rendon, R-Lake Metropolis, didn’t inform members prematurely that the laws could be mentioned, leaving lawmakers no time to evaluation the invoice or any accompanying evaluation.
