SKANDIA, Mich. (WLUC) – Special Olympics Michigan Area 36 is offering people an opportunity to become a certified coach.

With winter coming, the area is looking for more snowshoeing and cross-country skiing coaches. Starting on Nov. 19, sport certification virtual training will be available.

Area 36 Director Pam Bahrman says having more volunteers will give athletes more training opportunities.

“We have a great team of coaches for both cross-country and snowshoe,” Bahrman said. “We always want to add more coaches for availability and allowing more practices for different athletes to meet everyone’s schedules.”
