Michigan supervisor charged with sex assault of woman who was ‘helpless due to extreme intoxication’

THREE RIVERS, Mich. – A township supervisor in Michigan has been charged with sexually assaulting a lady who had turn out to be “bodily helpless resulting from excessive intoxication” after a golf outing, state officers stated.

The incident occurred in August 2010 after an outing at Sauganash Golf Course in Three Rivers, Michigan, in accordance with Lawyer Common Dana Nessel.

Kenneth Dwyane Linn, 57, of Three Rivers, is accused of assaulting the girl whereas she was intoxicated to the purpose of being unable to offer consent, authorities stated.

The assault resulted in bodily damage, Nessel stated. A sexual assault nurse examination was carried out the day after the incident, however the package was not submitted to the Michigan State Police lab till December 2014. It was returned to the Portage Police Division in January 2015.

In 2016, the package was submitted to Sorenson Forensics Lab in Salt Lake, Utah, as a part of Michigan’s statewide sexual assault package testing initiative.

In October 2021, the package was resubmitted to the MSP lab, and the outcomes of that evaluation led to fees being filed in opposition to Linn.

Linn, the Fabius Township supervisor, is charged with 4 counts of first-degree legal sexual conduct, which is punishable by as much as life in jail.

He was arraigned in eighth District Court docket and given a $100,000 bond, money/surety.

A possible trigger convention is scheduled for Nov. 3, and a preliminary examination is scheduled for Nov. 10.
