Michigan Brandon Naurato promotes to full-time head hockey coach

ANN ARBOR, Mich. (AP) — Brandon Naurato was promoted from interim to full-time head coach of Michigan’s hockey group Friday.

Naurato has led the Massive Ten Match champion Wolverines to the Frozen 4 — by which they play Quinnipiac on April 6 — after being named interim coach in August.

The college stated Naurato’s five-year deal shall be finalized after the event. Naurato took over after Mel Pearson was dismissed following a report that concluded Pearson and this system had “cultural points” that “require consideration.”

“I’m thrilled that Brandon Naurato will proceed to steer our ice hockey program, and it’s with that information that I’m extremely excited for the way forward for this storied program,” stated Warde Manuel, Michigan’s athletic director.

From Livonia, Naurato performed for Michigan from 2005-09, serving to the Wolverines attain the NCAA Match all 4 seasons. He returned to the college final season as an assistant after three seasons with the Detroit Pink Wings as a participant improvement marketing consultant. He additionally had an eight-year run at USA Hockey in participant improvement.
