Michigan AG appeals parole of man convicted on sexual assault, kidnapping charges in 1994

Michigan Legal professional Basic Dana Nessel has filed an attraction opposing the Parole Board’s resolution to launch a person convicted on sexual assault and kidnapping fees in 1994.

Floyd Jarvi, 63, pleaded no contest on a number of counts of first-degree felony sexual conduct, kidnapping, armed theft and felony firearm fees.

Jarvi turned eligible for parole in 2014. He had been sentenced to 23 to 60 years in jail.

“It’s evident that Jarvi nonetheless harbors harmful attitudes regarding girls and rape and stays a menace to our state,” Nessel mentioned. “The Parole Board clearly abused its discretion when it determined to parole Jarvi. The details underlying Jarvi’s convictions which led to his incarceration are horrendous and nightmarish.”
