I Think Michigan Beats Texas on Saturday
Not a hot take, not trying to get down voted into oblivion, don’t consider myself a genius. just what I think will happen.
UM is at home, noon game, potential for rainy cool weather. Michigan’s defense is good enough to shut Texas run game down, making them one dimensional.
Who do you pick, Ewers or will Johnson? One big play by UM’s secondary may be enough to win the game.
I give UM week #1 a pass…new starters in key spots, Nat. Champ hangover, but the lights will be bright, big game on Sat. Donavan Edwards may prove to be the best player on the field. I get it, no Stallions, no booger picker at coach, but that’s how I’d bet, if I did indeed bet.
I think Ohio State has a National Champ caliber team, and it won’t be easy, so I see UM being a huge hurdle for them in 2.5 months.
If Texas smokes them, I’ll gladly call myself an idiot, I’ll be happy and I’ll laugh for a while.
What say you?

Everything MSU QB Aidan Chiles Said After Win Over Prairie View A&M
EAST LANSING, Mich. — Michigan State quarterback Aidan Chiles had a solid day in the Spartans’ 40-0 victory over Prairie View A&M on Saturday.
The sophomore quarterback totaled 173 passing yards, a passing touchdown and a rushing touchdown in the win, once again distributing the ball to several receiving options.
Chiles addressed the media after the win.
You can watch his full presser below:
Below is a partial transcript from Chiles’ presser:
Q: How did you feel about the team’s performance today against Prairie View A&M?
Chiles: “There’s still room to improve, but put up points today. I can’t complain about it. I feel like offensively, we had a lot of self-inflicted wounds, but overall, we can move the ball. We know we can move the ball. And, I mean, yeah, I’ll stop there.”
Q: In terms of both team and individual growth, what’s the most important thing you get from a game like that?
Chiles: “There is no trap games. We talked about it. I mean, everybody’s gonna come and play their hardest. They came out and played, we just played a bit better today, and it wasn’t a trap game. We came out, that we got to do, got off the field, that’s what it is. Individually, I mean, you also gotta have that same mindset. There’s no trap games; Don’t go out here, through the week, not preparing how you would for every week. Don’t come out here and practice like half-assing everything. But come out and play football.”

Reacting to Michigan QB Alex Orji replacing Davis Warren, 28-18 victory over Arkansas State
It was a rough day for Michigan Wolverines starting quarterback Davis Warren. While he only threw three incomplete passes, all three of them were interceptions. He was subsequently benched after the third one in favor of Alex Orji, who promptly led Michigan on a touchdown drive. Orji finished 2-of-4 for 12 yards and the touchdown, with another 27 rushing yards on three carries.
On this week’s edition of the postgame podcast, I share my thoughts on Orji taking over at quarterback during Michigan’s 28-18 win over Arkansas State at the Big House, what’s next with USC on the horizon, and other general takeaways I had following the game.

Hundreds of cars pack Michigan Avenue for Mexican Independence Day
Hundreds of people and vehicles packed the northbound lanes and sidewalks of Michigan Avenue Friday night to kick off a weekend of Mexican Independence Day celebrations.
The line of cars, trucks and other vehicles — some with the Mexican flag draped over their hoods and others with people hanging out the windows — stretched from just south of East Jackson Boulevard up to East Wacker Drive, many beeping their horns in celebration.
People danced on the curb of Michigan Avenue and some in the street when the light was red, all waving variations of the Mexican flag with a few Palestinian and American flags mixed in.
About 11:30 p.m., after some large fireworks were set off near East Monroe Street, police began blocking off the northbound lanes of Michigan Avenue and diverting traffic into the southbound lanes toward I-90 while officers on foot cleared out some rowdier corners of the street.
Last year 86 people were arrested during the celebrations downtown, creating calls from some City Council members for a dedicated celebration for the holiday weekend.
Chicago police and Ald. Brian Hopkins (2nd) didn’t immediately respond to requests for information and comment.
This weekend’s festivities for Mexican Independence Day, which is Monday, will be the first time in more than a decade a sanctioned celebration will take place in the Loop. City officials hoped the event would help curb car caravans and deter unsanctioned demonstrations.
El Grito Chicago will run from 2 to 10 p.m. Saturday and Sunday in Grant Park’s Butler Field, with organizers promising musical performances from local and touring groups such as Banda Los Sebastianes and Selena the Show, food and beverages and an artisan market. Tickets range from $10 to $175 per person.
There’s also a Pilsen Mexican Independence Day Parade and an El Grito event in Pilsen, among other smaller events.
