The Aggies enter Saturday’s second-round matchup as 2.5-point favorites to reach the Sweet 16 after dispatching a tough No. 13 Yale team (80-71) in Thursday’s first round. Texas A&M shot 51.7 percent from the floor to atone for subpar marks from 3-point range (24.0%) and the free throw line (57.1%) in a matchup they controlled for many of the 40 minutes.
Michigan had to work a little harder in its 68-65 win over No. 12 UC San Diego in the first round after limping through the second half. The Tritons overcame a 41-27 halftime deficit and took a 65-63 lead with 2:29 remaining, but the Wolverines made a key 3-pointer on their next possession and held off a late comeback bid to advance.

What are the northern lights?
The northern lights are caused by collisions between fast-moving particles (electrons) from space and the oxygen and nitrogen gas in the atmosphere, NASA said.
Why do the northern lights have different colors?
The color of the aurora depends on which gas is being excited by the electrons and on how much energy is being exchanged, NASA said.
Oxygen emits either a greenish-yellow light (the most familiar color of the aurora) or a red light; nitrogen generally gives off a blue light. The oxygen and nitrogen molecules also emit ultraviolet light, which can only be detected by special cameras on satellites.
When is the best time to see the northern lights?
If the weather is clear, the best aurora is usually visible within an hour or two of midnight, according to NOAA.

If you’re having trouble seeing the northern lights with the naked eye, try using your phone camera in night mode and hold still while capturing the photo. You might be surprised at what’s dancing in the sky.

The Spartans are back in the national tournament for the second year in a row by doing almost exactly what they did last year. After winning (a share) of the Big Ten Regular Season Championship, Michigan State won the conference tournament by winning the final game in overtime. Last year, MSU came up short in the regional tournament, falling to rival Michigan in the St. Louis final. Adam Nightingale’s team is hoping they can make it to the Frozen Four for the first time since the program won it all in 2007.
