Spring yard cleanup season is again, together with wildfire season, which is why the Michigan Division of Pure Assets is reminding folks to verify native ordinances earlier than burning yard waste.

In keeping with the DNR, a burn allow is required for “open burning” — which incorporates the burning of yard particles like brush, backyard clippings and leaves — any time the bottom is just not snow-covered.
