AG Nessel discusses organized retail crime in Michigan

LANSING, Mich. (WILX) – Thursday morning, Michigan Attorney General Dana Nessel will join members of the FORCE Unit, and representatives from major retailers for a discussion on how organized retail crime impacts Michigan residents and businesses. They will also discuss creating public/private partnerships to combat crime and the successes of the FORCE unit, including arresting six people in a prolific auto theft ring.

In Oakland County, high-end homes were targeted just before the holidays in December 2023. Oakland County Sheriff Michael Bouchard said the organized crews of thieves were trained and originated from Chile and were able to steal jewelry, cars, and other valuables all while avoiding security cameras.
