Woman seriously injured in SUV-semi crash Tuesday afternoon in western Kansas
SHARON SPRINGS, Kan. (WIBW) – A girl was injured Tuesday afternoon when the game utility automobile she was driving collided with a semitrailer in western Kansas, authorities mentioned.
The crash was reported at 12:45 p.m. Tuesday at Ok-27 freeway and Nighthawk Highway in Wallace County. The placement was on the south fringe of Sharon Springs, a few mile south of US-40 freeway.
Based on the Kansas Freeway Patrol, a 2010 Kenworth semitrailer was northbound on Ok-27 when a 2015 Ford Explorer sport utility automobile that was westbound on Nighthawk Highway didn’t yield proper of solution to freeway visitors.
The patrol mentioned the Explorer started to tug out in entrance of the semi and the automobiles collided within the northbound lane of Ok-27.
The semi got here to relaxation within the west ditch, whereas the Explorer got here to relaxation within the east ditch.
The motive force of the Explorer, Trudy Unruh, 68, of Sharon Springs, was severely injured and was transported to Greeley County Hospital in Tribune. The patrol mentioned Unruh wasn’t carrying a seat belt.
The motive force of the semi, Scott L. Ricke, 46, of Leoti, was reported to be unhurt. The patrol mentioned Ricke was carrying his seat belt.
