Pittsburg author speaks at Washburn’s annual Kansas Day Lecture

TOPEKA, Kan. (WIBW) – Washburn College held its annual Kansas Day lecture.

The college invited Kansas writer Juliet Patterson to its Heart for Kansas Research Thursday evening. The Pittsburg native spoke about her 2022 e book “Sinkhole: A Legacy of Suicide,” a writing described as an exploration of grief by the lens of Pittsburg’s historical past of mining.

Kansas was admitted to the Union 162 years in the past, on January 29, 1861.
