N.C. man behind bars after attempt to meet Kansas child he met online
ALMA, Kan. (WIBW) – A North Carolina man is behind bars after making an attempt to satisfy up with a Kansas baby he met on-line.
The Wabaunsee Co. Sheriff’s Workplace says that on Monday, Oct. 31, officers responded to a house within the 400 block of E. Flint Hills Dr. at Lake Wabaunsee with studies of potential baby sexual exploitation.
After they arrived, officers stated they discovered Derrick Yarnell Mayfield, 20, of Henderson, N.C. They stated they realized that Henderson had flown from North Carolina to Kansas to satisfy a younger woman who he met on-line.
The Sheriff’s Workplace famous that proof on the scene led to Mayfield’s arrest. He was then booked into the Wabaunsee Co. Jail on aggravated indecent liberties with a toddler, contributing to a toddler’s misconduct and illegal visible depiction of a kid.
As for the kid, officers stated she was “made secure and brought into protecting custody.”
Mayfield stays behind bars on a $100,000 bond.
