Kansas offensive lineman Joe Krause was arrested Monday and charged with “aggravated criminal threat; cause terror, evacuation or disruption,” according to the booking report from Douglas County Sheriff’s Office in Lawrence, Kan.

The arrest came hours after the University of Kansas Police Department responded to a bomb threat against the Kansas football facilities, according to multiple reports.

The booking report states Krause was arrested by the university police on Alabama Street, less than a mile from Kansas’ Anderson Family Football Complex and David Booth Kansas Memorial Stadium. The complaint said Krause was arrested for communicating “a threat to commit violence” toward Kansas football facilities, which were evacuated. Police said the facilities were safe around 8 p.m. ET Monday, per reports.

The University of Kansas Police Department has not confirmed Krause was the individual who made the bomb threat.

“We are aware of a situation involving one of our student-athletes. We take the safety of our staff, student-athletes and coaches very seriously,” Kansas Athletics said in a statement to The Athletic. “We are gathering more information and will have no further comment at this time.”

Krause is a redshirt sophomore walk-on from Prairie Village, Kan. He has not played a snap the past two seasons and made two appearances during the 2020 season.
