Kansas City Chiefs trailer spoof nods to Taylor Swift, Travis Kelce
The Kansas City Chiefs just dropped a new post-season promotional trailer that spoofs Tyler Hynes and Janel Parrish’s Hallmark rom-coms — and one of its cameos has some fans speculating that it was also inspired by Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce’s romance.
The trailer for Falling for Football follows a football fan (Hynes) caught between his love for the Chiefs and the love of his life (Parrish).
Narrated by comedian Rob Riggle, the story features its star-crossed lovers hitting a breaking point when Parrish finds Hynes fiddling with Chiefs merch in the shop where he works. “You’re not just a fan, it’s your livelihood!” she cries, giving Hynes an ultimatum. “It’s the Chiefs or me!” she demands. “I hate football!”
A flummoxed Hynes replies, “Come on, Amber… no one hates football.”

Nodding to the tropes of a classic Hallmark Christmas romance, the trailer later shows the couple finally finding love in each other’s arms — much like a certain Kansas City Chiefs tight end and his pop-star girlfriend.
Some Swifties spied Easter eggs scattered throughout the clip, like when Chiefs offensive lineman Creed Humphrey calls out “order number 13” at a local diner in one scene. That is Swift’s lucky number, which she used to write on her hand before concerts.
Also, in the aforementioned merch scene, Hynes is shown adjusting what seem to be friendship bracelets — which have been a big part of Swift’s Eras tour — in a shop.

Donna Kelce, who pops up in the trailer parody as a diner waitress, even posted an image of it to her Instagram Story, which fueled more fan speculation that it was inspired by her son and Swift.
“If this isn’t the true story of Taylor and Travis, I’m out,” one fan wrote in the comments section of the Chiefs’ post for the trailer. Another suggested that Swift and Kelce should have been cast in the main roles.
Hynes even chimed in with his own Swift reference, writing, “It’s me. Hi. I’m the problem, it’s me.”
Aside from Hallmark stars and a notable mom, the trailer features Chiefs players Humphrey, Trey Smith, Tommy Townsend, and Dante Hall, as well as play-by-play announcer Mitch Holthus, noted Chiefs fan Melissa Etheridge, Kansas City–born rapper Tech N9ne, country musician and Chiefs stan Kameron Marlowe, NFL on-air personality Kimberly Chexnayder (Kimmi Chex), and team mascot KC Wolf.
