Jeepers of the Plains rally for annual ‘Krawling for a Claus’ toy run
WICHITA, Kan. (KWCH) – The holiday spirit was in full swing on the roads in Wichita Saturday as the 12th annual “Krawling for a Claus” toy run, organized by Jeepers of the Plains, kicked off. Jeep enthusiasts from across Kansas gathered to support several local charities, including Toys for Tots, Resilient Warrior, Wichita’s Littlest Heroes, Kansas Honor Flight and Lexi’s Lambs.
The day started with a poker run before the convoy of Jeeps set off on a toy run through the city, finishing up at a local Jeep dealership to enjoy some food and festive activities.
For many, the event was about more than just the fun – it was about giving back to the community.
“It’s a great feeling just because you’re giving back to the community that you live in,” Joe Davidson, one of the event organizers. “Christmas is a really important time of the year, and we want everybody to experience the joy of Christmas.”
“You know, being able to do something for somebody and you don’t expect anything in return, especially this time of year, it’s what we need more of,” said Jeep lover Matt Moore.
Last year, nearly 500 Jeeps participated in the event, and organizers are hoping for an even larger turnout this year.
