Strong start for Hawarden’s Hunter Dekkers at Iowa State

AMES, IA (Dakota Information Now) – After a sensational beginning debut for Iowa State Hawarden native Hunter Dekkers steps into his house state’s largest rivalry recreation attempting attempting to ship the Cyclones first victory over the Iowa Hawkeyes in eight years.

After spot obligation as a backup the final two years, the West Sioux alum made his first begin at quarterback for the Cyclones final Saturday in Ames in opposition to Southeast MIssouri State. Dekkers seemed sharp, going 25-31 for 293 yards and 4 touchdowns to guide Iowa State to a 42-10 victory.

It’s a second Hunter felt prepared for after patiently ready and studying on the bench and stated he wasn’t at the same time as nervous as he had anticipated he could be.
