Iowa tops Wisconsin, Purdue for 3-star DB

Iowa collected its seventeenth commit of the 2023 class when Chicago defensive again Kahlil Tate selected the Hawkeyes on Tuesday morning. Tate (6-foot-3, 185 kilos) picked Iowa over Wisconsin and Purdue after visiting all three faculties in June.

The Hawkeyes now have three defensive backs pledged in 2023. Iowa now ranks No. 20 within the 247Sports Composite crew rankings.

A flexible athlete, Tate might play receiver, cornerback or security. At Kenwood Academy, Tate completed with 451 yards and 10 touchdowns final season. On protection, he had 63 tackles, 5 interceptions and two fumble recoveries. However his ability set interprets to what Iowa likes from its defensive backs, particularly at security or its money place. Tate has big-time hitting capability and good protection abilities.
