Iowa Sec. of State urges Iowans not to fall for false election information after reported cases

(ABC 6 Information) – Iowa Secretary of State Paul Pate is urging Iowans to not fall sufferer to election misinformation or disinformation after reported instances in Iowa earlier this week.

Pate says voters ought to flip to trusted sources for election info, similar to; the people who run the elections, the Secretary of State, and county auditors.

In line with Pate and the Mahaska County Sheriff’s Workplace, earlier this week a number of residents have reportedly been victims of election disinformation.

The Mahaska County Sheriff’s Workplace says a number of residents of the county had reportedly obtained cellphone calls originating from New York state falsely telling them that they may register their poll vote over the cellphone and there’s no have to return it to the county auditor’s workplace.

The Mahaska County Sheriff’s Workplace is investigating the incident.
