Iowa nursing homes closing at an alarming rate

CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa (KCRG) – In response to an advocacy group for elder care, the state of Iowa has misplaced 23 nursing houses because the starting of 2022.

Leaders within the business say extra long-term care amenities might shut except elected leaders act. Additionally they say they’ve already raised wages, labored on recruiting, and diminished the variety of beds with the intention to keep open.

The group has urged lawmakers to extend the reimbursement price for Medicaid sufferers and create what they referred to as extra workforce-friendly insurance policies.
