Iowa City Man Sentenced to Federal Prison for Firearm Charge

DAVENPORT, Iowa – An Iowa Metropolis man, Sean White Hood, age 32, was sentenced on Tuesday, October 25, 2022, to 72 months in jail for Felon in Possession of a Firearm. Following his imprisonment, Hood was ordered to serve three years of supervised launch.

On July 24, 2021, Iowa Metropolis cops had been dispatched to an condominium complicated on a report of photographs fired. The investigation decided that there had been two shootings: one on the condominium complicated and one throughout the road. Hood assaulted co-defendant Ka’leck Bolden on the condominium complicated, and Bolden shot Hood in retaliation. Hood ran throughout the road, obtained a firearm from a third-party, and fired a number of photographs towards the condominium complicated. A bystander car was struck twice by Hood’s gunfire. Hood discarded his loaded firearm in bushes close by. Hood pleaded responsible on June 23, 2022.

In August 2022, Bolden, age 24 of Cedar Rapids, obtained a 100-month sentence for Felon in Possession of a Firearm.

United States Lawyer Richard D. Westphal of the Southern District of Iowa made the announcement. The Iowa Metropolis Police Division investigated the case.
