Hawkeyes Down Simpson, 22-0, in Fall Opener

IOWA CITY, Iowa – The College of Iowa softball defeated Simpson Faculty, 22-0­, on Saturday at Pearl Subject in a 9-inning exhibition.

Junior switch Maren Judisch bought the beginning for the Hawkeyes within the circle. She bought by way of the primary inning unscathed after permitting the primary two Storm hitters on-base. Within the second inning Simpson loaded the bases however Judsich was capable of shut the door to maintain the rating, 0-0.

Iowa used a distinct pitcher each inning for the remainder of the sport. Freshmen right-handed pitchers Jalen Adams and Kelsey Winters made their debuts in a Hawkeye uniform making fast work within the third and ninth innings, respectively.

The Hawkeyes return to motion tomorrow Sunday September 25 as they’ll host St. Thomas at Bob Pearl Subject. First pitch is scheduled for 1 p.m. CT.
