Hawkeyes Close Regular Season, Prepare for B1G’s

CHAMPAIGN, Ailing. – College of Iowa males’s and girls’s cross nation closed their common season Friday afternoon on the Illini Open. Freshman Ana Barroso paced the ladies’s 5,000-meter race for Iowa, whereas freshman Carson Houg led the Hawkeye males within the 8,000-meter occasion.

The ladies’s 5,000-meter race kicked off the afternoon in Champaign, with Barroso clocking a high 10 general end (18:37.5). Sophomore Kaitlin Knape (19:26.9) and freshman Aleah Tenpas (19:34.6) completed within the high 30 general with their performances. Junior Bryce Gidel (20:49.4) and sophomore Sam Strauss (21:25.3) rounded out the highest 5 for Iowa.

Iowa completed in sixth place as a group, incomes 125 factors, a mean of 19:58, and a ramification of two:47. Wisconsin received the group title with 17 factors.

Within the males’s 8,000-meter race, freshman Carson Houg led the Hawkeyes with a high 15 end and private better of 25:49.4. Fellow freshman Isaac Hartman crossed the road in 28:02.5 within the common season finale.
