Eastern Iowa Native takes Command of Major U.S. Navy Warship

The USS John P. Murtha is the tenth San Antonio-class amphibious transport dock ship of the US Navy and is called in honor of Congressman John Murtha of Pennsylvania.

The ship was beneath the command of Capt. Gervy Alota from July 2020 this previous July 9. Taking on command at the moment was a Lone Tree, Iowa native with household within the Cedar Rapids space.

Captain Douglas (Doug) Langenberg, has a distinguished navy and Naval profession. In a media launch, Capt. Langenberg mentioned
