Des Moines Man Pleads Guilty to Insurance Fraud

Des Moines, Iowa – Sang Nguyen, age 47, of Des Moines, pled responsible on October 4, 2022, to at least one depend of Insurance coverage Fraud – Software Submission (Class D Felony) following an investigation by the Iowa Insurance coverage Division’s Fraud Bureau.

The investigation started in June of 2022 after the Iowa Insurance coverage Division’s Fraud Bureau obtained data indicating Nguyen had supplied false data to an insurer when buying full protection car insurance coverage.   

The investigation decided that after Nguyen’s bike was concerned in a single automobile collision and sustained over $3,000 in harm he contacted an insurer to buy auto insurance coverage protection.  Through the buy Nguyen supplied false details about the present harm to his bike and was granted full protection automotive insurance coverage.  Days later, Nguyen filed an insurance coverage declare alleging that the pre-existing harm occurred after he obtained the insurance coverage protection.  Nguyen’s intent was to obtain insurance coverage advantages to which he was not entitled.  Nguyen was arrested on July 20, 2022.

Following his responsible plea, Nguyen obtained a 5 12 months suspended jail sentence and was positioned on supervised probation for 2 years.  Nguyen was additionally ordered to pay a fantastic of $1,025.
