State Rep. Shackleford filing Friday to run for Indianapolis mayor

INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) — One other candidate for mayor of Indianapolis will formally enter the race Friday morning.

State Rep. Robin Shackleford (D-Indianapolis) will go to the Marion County Clerk’s Workplace at 10 a.m. to file the mandatory paperwork, based on a press release by her marketing campaign.

Shackleford, 52, an Indianapolis native, has served within the statehouse since 2012 and represents Indiana Home District 98 on town’s east aspect. She is the chair of the Indiana Black Legislative Caucus and a rating minority member of the Home’s Public Well being Committee.

Shackleford introduced her run for mayor in November. The papers she information Friday will shift her marketing campaign from an exploratory committee to a candidate’s principal committee.
