Slick conditions affecting Indiana roads; ISP calling in troopers

(WISH) — Falling snow and low temperatures are inflicting slick situations on Indiana roads.

Indiana State Police on the Indianapolis district say troopers are being referred to as in on their day without work as a result of crashes occurring on interstates. That features a jacknifed semi on southbound Interstate 65 between thirtieth and twenty sixth streets. Two lanes are blocked consequently.

ISP’s John Perrine says troopers have responded to 2 dozen crashes within the Indianapolis space.

On Friday night, Indy Snow Drive – the Indianapolis Division of Public Works’ winter climate crew – stated two dozen drivers have been being positioned on standby to assist with Saturday morning situations. On Saturday morning, Indy Snow Drive despatched out drivers to deal with bridges and overpasses.

The Gibson County Sheriff’s Workplace in southwest Indiana says deputies have responded to a number of slide-offs. The sheriff’s workplace says the slide-offs are on U.S. 41 and County Highway 800 South.

Within the Henryville space, Indiana State Police say they’ve labored 4 crashes.
