Pirates farm report for June 18, 2023: Endy Rodriguez collects 3 hits, 4 RBIs in Indy loss

INDIANAPOLIS (Triple-A, 29-38) gave up a run to Iowa (Cubs) in the bottom of the ninth to lose, 11-10. C Endy Rodriguez (.245) went 3 for 4 with to doubles and four RBIs. DH Aaron Shackelford (.244) went 1 for 4 with a three-run homer, his ninth. SS Chris Owings (.267) went 1 for 6 with his third homer. 3B Vinny Capra (.219) was 4 for 4 with a walk and two runs scored. RHP Duane Underwood (4.50) gave up two runs on two hits and three walks in an inning to take the loss. RHP Quinn Priester (4.74) started and was touched up for six runs on eight hits, including a homer, in 5.1 innings. LHP Daniel Zamora (5.13) pitched 1.2 scoreless innings. RHP Chase De Jong (4.26) allowed four runs on one hit and three walks in a third of an inning.

Next: Tuesday vs. Columbus (Guardians), 7:05 p.m.

ALTOONA (Double-A, 31-30) was edged out by Somerset (Yankees), 4-3. CF Matt Gorski (.265) went 2 for 4 with a double, two runs scored and an RBI. He stole three bases to run his season total to 16. SS Liover Peguero (.269) and 2B Andreas Alvarez (.213) were each 1 for 4 with a double. RHP Brad Case (2.61) started and went three innings, allowing two runs on three hits and two walks. RHP Noe Toribio (1-1, 4.64) gave up two runs on two hits, including a homer, in the seventh, to take the loss. RHP Bear Bellomy (10.00) pitched two scoreless innings and LHP Tyler Samaniego (6.35) and RHP Oliver Garcia (5.09) each thre a scoreless frame.

GREENSBORO (High-A, 33-28) gave up two runs in the bottom of the ninth and lost 6-5 to Greenville (Red Sox). DH Tsung-Che Cheng (.314) went 1 for 4 and hit his ninth homer. SS Mike Jarvis (.230) went 2 for 5 with a triple, a run scored and an RBI. C Wyatt Hendrie (.227) went 1 for 3 with a walk and an RBI. 2B Maikol Escotto (.194) went 2 for 4 with a double. RHP Bubba Chandler (6.44) started and allowed three runs on six hits and a walk in 3.2 innings. LHP Cy Nielson (2-1, 3.00) gave up two runs on two hits and two walks in an inning to take the loss.

Next: Tuesday vs. Winston-Salem (White Sox), 6:30 p.m.

BRADENTON (Low-A, 33-29) topped Fort Myers (Twins), 4-3. 2B Termarr Johnson (.248) went 1 for 3 with a home run, his fifth, and a walk. CF Enmanuel Terrero (.299) went 1 for 4 with a homer, his fourth, and a walk. 1B Nick Cimillo (.244) went 1 for 3 with a double, an RBI and a walk. LHP Dominic Perachi (4.53) started and went 4.1 innings, allowing three runs on three hits and four walks. RHP Joshua Loeschorn (4.67) got the final two outs of the fifth. RHP Carlos Lomeli (3-1, 2.28) pitched two scoreless innings to earn the win and LHP Julain Bosnic (3.14) also threw two scoreless to pick up his fifth save.
