Indy DPW: Trash pickup to operate as normal this week

INDIANAPOLIS — The Indianapolis Division of Public Works mentioned Sunday that trash pickup will function as regular this week and won’t go on a sliding schedule regardless of town’s observance of Juneteenth.

“Whereas Juneteenth is included as a vacation for Indy DPW’s stable waste division, it falls on a weekend which generally doesn’t observe a slide schedule,” Indy DPW mentioned in a press launch. “Even so, Indy DPW stable waste division management coordinated with members of AFSCME union native 725 to vote on whether or not stable waste crews wish to alter this work week, given the historic significance of the commemoration. Employees voted to proceed with a typical weekly stable waste service schedule, whilst Metropolis workplaces might be closed on Monday, June 20.”
