Indianapolis Public Library’s Seed Service offers free vegetable and flower seeds for at-home gardens

INDIANAPOLIS — The Indianapolis Public Library’s Seed Service has returned for the 2023 spring and summer season season.

The Seed Library Service permits Hoosiers to take residence free vegetable, flower and herb seeds to plant in at-home gardens. The library limits 25 seed packets per family.

The Seed Library will provide over 30 completely different seeds together with:

  • Marigold
  • Milkweed
  • Sunflower
  • Basil
  • Cilantro
  • Oregano
  • Turnip
  • Carrots
  • Cucumbers
  • Inexperienced beans
  • Peppers
  • Pumpkins
  • Zucchini squash
  • Tomatoes
  • And extra

Seeds can be provided at 19 public library branches.
Along with the Seed Library, some branches may even provide gardening courses. The courses will cowl gardening fundamentals, find out how to plant seeds indoors and when it’s secure to plant the seeds.
