Indiana Dept. of Workforce Development receives $10.8 million grant

The Indiana Division of Workforce Improvement has obtained a $10.8 million grant from the U.S. Division of Labor to attach employers with dislocated Hoosier employees.

The cash comes from the High quality Jobs, Fairness, Technique, and Coaching Catastrophe Restoration (QUEST) grant program which targets high-quality jobs in infrastructure, surroundings and local weather, the care economic system and different crucial and rising sectors.

The Division of Workforce Improvement will use the grant funding to accomplice with the Indiana Chamber of Commerce and others to develop an outreach technique with Indiana employers to focus on populations disproportionately impacted by the financial inequities exacerbated by the pandemic.

For the employer inhabitants, the division will prioritize work with employer companions in recognized, high-demand recovering sectors, and in rising sectors akin to renewable vitality, electrical car applied sciences and semiconductor manufacturing.
