Former Indiana defensive back Jordan Shaw commits to Arizona
This past weekend, the Arizona Wildcats had quite the list of visitors out in Tucson to check out the program up close.
They didn’t have to wait long as Indiana defensive back transfer Jordan Shaw announced on Monday evening his decision to continue his college career with the Wildcats.
Shaw comes in with four years of eligibility left after playing in four games this past season in Bloomington. The 6-foot, 170-pound corner will provide quality depth behind the three-headed monster of Ephesians Prysock, Tacario Davis, and Treydan Stukes. One can see Shaw stepping up and filling Stukes’ spot once he graduates after the 2024 season.
As mentioned above, Shaw played in four games his only season with the Hoosiers. He tallied 12 tackles. half a tackle for loss, half a sack, and a PBU. Pretty solid numbers for not a lot of live action.
According to the 247Sports Composite rankings, the Downey (Calif.) St. Pius X-St. Matthias Academy product was a high 3-star prospect in the 2023 class. Coming out of high school, he was rated as the 613th player nationally, the 61st best corner in the class, and the 54th best player in California.
He is the first transfer to announce for Arizona, and it would not be surprising to see more follow.
