Flexsteel to Pay $9.8M For Contamination Cleanup at Indiana Site

Flexsteel Industries Inc. has agreed to a consent decree that requires it to pay $9.8 million for the cleanup of contamination on the Lane Road Floor Water Contamination Superfund Web site (Lane Road Web site) in Elkhart, Indiana, and to reimburse the Environmental Safety Company (EPA) for a portion of its previous prices incurred on the Lane Road Web site.

In keeping with the grievance filed concurrently with the proposed consent decree within the Northern District of Indiana, Flexsteel is chargeable for the cleanup as a result of its former manufacturing operations contributed to contamination on the Lane Road Web site.
