CHAMPAIGN — Police are investigating a report of shots fired late Monday night in Campustown.
University of Illinois police sent out an Illini-Alert about 10:45 p.m. that warned “Shots fired at Second and Green, Champaign. Leave area if safe to do so. Otherwise, secure your location. More information to come.”
About 45 minutes later, another Illini-Alert was released saying the subject had left the area and “it is safe to resume regular activities.“
