July 4 parade shooting leaves 6 dead in US state of Illinois
The dying toll from a Fourth of July Independence Day parade capturing within the US state of Illinois has risen to six, stated police on Monday.
The capturing, which occurred in Highland Park metropolis, some 48 kilometers (30 miles) exterior of Chicago, additionally left 24 others injured, stated Highland Park Police Commander Chris O’Neill at a press convention.
He stated legislation enforcement businesses are trying to find the gunman and described him as a white male, aged 18-20.
The police imagine the gunman fired a rifle from a roof through the parade.
“The firearm has been recovered from the scene,” stated O’Neill.
Illinois Rep. Brad Schneider stated he and his crew had been gathering at the beginning of the parade when the capturing occurred.
