Illinois State Police squad car struck by pickup truck on I-64
WAYNE COUNTY, Sick. – An Illinois State Police squad automobile was struck by a Chesterfield resident Monday night time.
At about 7:49 p.m. Monday, an ISP District 19 Trooper was stationary on the best shoulder of Interstate 64 westbound at milepost 101 in Wayne County.
The trooper’s emergency lights had been activated, and the trooper was standing exterior the car, aiding one other trooper.
At the moment, a grey Dodge half ton pickup truck that was touring westbound on I-64, allegedly did not yield to the trooper’s car and struck the left quarter panel space of the squad automobile, police stated.

The trooper was transported to an space hospital with minor accidents.
The motive force of the Dodge, 72-year-old Elvie J. Cagle, was unhurt and issued a quotation for a violation of Scott’s Legislation.
To date in 2022, there have been 18 ISP squad vehicles struck in relation to Scott’s Legislation.
