Illinois man breaks court officer’s nose during sentencing

A Winthrop Harbor man has been charged with a number of felonies after breaking an officer’s nostril throughout a courtroom look Wednesday in Lake County.

Maseo B. Rosser, 22, appeared in courtroom on Wednesday to be sentenced on a 2020 cost of aggravated discharge of a firearm, based on an announcement from Lake County Sheriff’s Workplace Deputy Chief Chris Covelli.

After the 90-month sentence was handed down, Rosser attacked the courtroom officer as he was being taken into custody, Covelli stated.

The courtroom officer sustained a damaged nostril after Rosser punched him within the face and headbutted him, the assertion stated.

One other courtroom officer and two deputies who have been within the courtroom on the time intervened and have been in a position to restrain Rosser after a number of minutes.

Rosser was taken into custody and held on the Lake County Jail earlier than being transferred to the Illinois Division of Corrections.

Rosser now faces three felony fees for the assault, together with aggravated battery to a peace officer, resisting a peace officer inflicting harm and aggravated assault, officers stated.

He’s scheduled to seem in courtroom Friday on the brand new fees.
