SPRINGFIELD — Corn and soybean planting is nearing completion, based on the U.S. Division of Agriculture’s Illinois As of Sunday corn planted in Illinois reached 95 p.c, in comparison with the five-year common of 89 p.c. Corn emerged reached 89 p.c, in comparison with the five-year common of 80 p.c. Corn situation was rated as 1 p.c poor, 18 p.c honest, 66 p.c good and 15 p.c glorious.
Soybeans planted as of Sunday reached 88 p.c, in comparison with the five-year common of 78 p.c. Soybeans emerged reached 75 p.c, in comparison with the five-year common of 63 p.c.
Soybean situation was rated 2 p.c poor, 16 p.c honest, 68 p.c good, 14 p.c glorious.
Winter wheat headed was reported at 97 p.c, in comparison with the five-year common of 95 p.c. Winter wheat situation was rated 4 p.c poor, 19 p.c honest, 55 p.c good and 22 p.c glorious.
