Roller rink celebrates 6 decades of showing new generations Detroit skating culture

DETROIT – For practically 70 years, a curler rink in southwest Detroit has attracted new generations of skaters.

Rollercade Detroit on Schaefer freeway opened in 1955. On the time, there have been only a few locations for Black kids to curler skate.
