Community group steps up security after deadly carjacking on Detroit’s west side

DETROIT – A group group referred to as New Period Detroit is coming collectively to soundly escort staff from companies to their vehicles each evening.

It comes after a mom was shot and killed within the space on Dec. 28.

“Clearly, we’re stepping up in high-traffic areas like gasoline stations and liquor shops,” stated Zeke Williams.
