WATCH: Video shows vehicle doing doughnuts around fire under Playhouse Square chandelier
CLEVELAND, Ohio (WOIO) – A viral video circulating on social media shows a vehicle doing doughnuts in Playhouse Square Saturday night around a lit fire.
According to Cleveland Police Dispatch, officers were called to the intersection of 14th Street and Euclid Avenue around midnight Saturday night.
Peyton, a Cleveland State student who lives in the area, was shocked when 19 News showed her the video from Playhouse Square.
“Oh my God! That’s crazy. Is that on purpose? I think it’s pretty dangerous. I can’t believe it went on for that long, and it’s right by a college campus,” she said. “I don’t think it’s safe. Cleveland’s always busy and it’s not safe. I’ve seen a lot of stuff down here. It’s not a safe city and I think we all know that.”
Another man visiting Cleveland this Memorial Day weekend with his daughter says he could hear the car doing donuts from his hotel room.
“I’m surprised it took police as long as it did to break it up,” he said. “That’s a dangerous thing to do in the middle of the city.”
Police were unable to locate the suspects.
One witness says they saw the suspected vehicle leave just as police arrived on scene.
19 News has reached out to police for more details but has not heard back.
