CLEVELAND, Ohio – Newly released videos from Cleveland police show the chaotic scene after a gunman opened fire on crowds of people as they left bars and nightclubs in the Warehouse District on Sunday morning.

Nine people were injured in the attack. Two remain in a hospital, authorities said.

In one video, about 10 gunshots are heard as a group of people run past the officer standing at the intersection of West 6th Street and St. Clair Avenue.

The officer rushes to the scene on West 6th, near Johnson Court, where multiple people are seen in the video laying on the ground with gunshot wounds as others nearby scream and hide.

“I need a trauma kit; someone give me a trauma kit,” the officer yells out to other officers on scene.

While waiting for the kit, the officer instructs one of the victims to apply pressure on the leg before taking a bystander’s belt to use as a tourniquet.

Sgt. Jennifer Ciaccia, the department’s spokesperson, said trauma kits are in each police vehicle, but because the officer was assessing the threat on-foot, he did not have one immediately available.

In another video, a person outside of the Barley House told the officer he heard gunshots coming from south of the intersection.

“I was standing there and they sounded somewhere in this direction towards us,” the man said while pointing toward St. Clair Avenue.

Cleveland police and deputy U.S. marshals arrested Lorain resident Jaylon Jennings this week for shooting nine people with a 9 mm Glock. The 25-year-old was charged with attempted murder in Cleveland Municipal Court. His case is expected to go before a Cuyahoga County grand jury in the coming days.

Early Sunday morning, Jennings observed several people inside Rumor Bar & Lounge on West 6th Street, according to an arrest warrant filed by Cleveland police on Monday.

About 2:30 a.m., he retrieved the Glock pistol, which had an extended magazine, from the trunk of his vehicle in a parking lot across the street. He then fired into the crowd.

All victims were transported to MetroHealth Medical Center. Two remain in the Intensive Care Unit in critical condition, a hospital spokesperson said.
