Ohio State has its 2026 quarterback commit, as four-star pledges to Buckeyes

COLUMBUS, Ohio — Ohio State has finally found its 2026 quarterback commit.
Four-star Luke Fahey committed to the Buckeyes Thursday, ending a long search that had the coaching staff searching far and wide for its next signal-caller.
Fahey is the No. 356 overall prospect and No. 24 quarterback in the class, per the 247Sports composite rankings. He’s also the No. 33 overall prospect from California.
From Mission Viejo, he chose the Buckeyes over Indiana and Stanford. It was unclear if the Buckeyes would indeed offer him a scholarship after his visit, but the offer meant a lot to Fahey and it led to a commitment.
Ohio State offered him a scholarship after his official visit on June 20, a sign that both he and the program were comfortable with each other entering the most important part of the recruiting calendar. Now, he’s set to be a Buckeye.
And, he’ll have a bevy of receiving options to throw to in the class as Ohio State has a host of talented wideouts — including five-star Chris Henry Jr. and four-star Kayden Dixon-Wyatt, who both attend Mater Dei in California.
Listed at 6-foot, 185 pounds, Fahey has been a solid starter for Mission Viejo. Per 247Sports, he threw for 1,638 yards with 17 touchdowns and zero interceptions in his junior season in 2024. He also went 105 for 137 passing, a 76.64% completion percentage.
He recently led Mission Viejo to a passing tournament championship in California.
The state of California has been kind to Ohio State in recent years, as former five-star Julian Sayin enrolled at Ohio State after just a few weeks at Alabama. Former Heisman Trophy finalist and Big Ten Offensive Player of the Year C.J. Stroud was from California as well.
Ohio State has a 2027 commitment from another California quarterback, Brady Edmunds. Now, it has a 2026 commit in Fahey.

Four-star 2026 edge rusher commits to Michigan over Ohio State

COLUMBUS, Ohio — Four-star edge rusher Carter Meadows committed to Michigan today over Ohio State and a host of other programs, as the Buckeyes search for a high-level edge in the 2026 class continues
Meadows is the No. 72 OVR, No. 9 edge rusher, per the 247Sports composite rankings. He attends Gonzaga in Washington D.C.
This one stings the Buckeyes for multiple reasons, clearly.
He took an official visit to Ohio State on June 13 and took one a week later to Michigan. After it seemed the Buckeyes had momentum, the Wolverines jumped in to take the top 100 talent.
The Buckeyes have three defensive linemen committed in the class with Khary Wilder, Damari Simeon and Cameron Brickle. Only Wilder is listed as an edge rusher, though he has the ability to do both when he gets to Columbus.
After missing out on top 100 edge rusher Luke Wafle almost two weeks ago, Meadows’ decision hurts the Buckeyes who need some impact edge rushers in the 2026 class. One of them just won’t be Meadows.

3-star 2026 defensive lineman commits to Ohio State football

COLUMBUS, Ohio — The Ohio State football program, for the second time in as many days, has earned a commitment along the defensive line.
Three-star 2026 lineman Cameron Brickle, the No. 537 overall prospect and No. 62 defensive lineman in the 247Sports composite rankings, committed Saturday to the Buckeyes over Penn State, Florida State and Maryland.
He will play this fall for IMG Academy in Bradenton, Fla., after previously playing at Malvern Prep in Pennsylvania and Rancho Santa Margarita Catholic in California.
Brickle joins Damari Simeon as the second defensive lineman to pledge to OSU defensive line coach Larry Johnson this week. He is the 19th overall commitment to Ohio State in the cycle, as well as the third member of the front four.
An interior lineman, Brickle weighs 305 pounds and stands at 6-foot-2. He’ll join Simeon as the other interior prospect in this class.
Ohio State entered the day with the nation’s fifth-ranked recruiting class (and 272.27 points) and will remain in fifth with 274.76 points. With three defensive linemen in the class, the Buckeyes’ 2026 group seems to be coming together.
