Thousands had power knocked out in Northeast Ohio due to tornado-producing severe storms

CLEVELAND, Ohio (WOIO) – Thousands of FirstEnergy customers lost power due to severe storms and a tornado that rolled through the area Saturday afternoon.

Several Counties in our viewing area had tornado warnings including a confirmed tornado that touched down in Richland County that was reported by a 19 News Weather spotter near the intersection of I-71 and Highway 13. There are currently no reports of damage.

These storms also produced some large hail the size of golf balls.

The power outages at their peak were around 12,000 customers.
